Volunteer

The success of “First Night Wolfeboro” depends upon its many volunteers, to put out luminaria; man the doors at the venues checking buttons; cook food in homes and church kitchensnto feed the hungry public;, march the bigger than life puppets down the street with reveling GUSTO; drive the shuttle-vans up and down the street,………. I think you get the idea.

We place people where their talents lie, and usually they let us know right away what they are comfortable doing. We invite you to look over the list and sign up, knowing that you will get even more enjoyment back, because you will have listened to entertainment, met your friends and neighbors along the way, and made a difference in our community.

Check buttons at the venues: This can involve a couple of hours any time  from 2 till midnight, or an entire afternoon or evening.  A lot of the venues have more than one entrance, so a couple
sets of volunteers are needed at some Venues.

Help with buttons:
Nancy Fischer will be putting buttons in canisters out in the stores in town and out-of-town.  They need to be checked on, money collected and noted. She can use some help with this job.

Parade: This calls for strong adults and teens to strap on puppets and march from First Christian Church (across from the Wolfeboro Inn) at 4:30 pm and march by 5:15 to dockside. We also need a couple dozen youngsters to carry hand-held puppet heads on sticks, as well as wear penguin costumes. We need people (parents ?) to bring flashlights, noise-makers and accompany he marchers down the street and back to Durgin Stables.

Face painting and mask or hat making: This is the ever popular hands-on activity that kids adore.  Put your creative talents to work and sign up for 1:30-4:30. Got some ideas to discuss for this, call Jo-el Gavel-Cookman at 859-2446 or cell 655-6389.

Have any questions about any of this, call Debbie Hopkins at 569-4994.
