Welcome to the thirteenth annual celebration of First Night® Wolfeboro brought to you by the Governor Wentworth Arts Council and the Wolfeboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
What is First Night®?
FIRST NIGHT® is a community-wide, alcohol-free celebration of the performing arts which began in Boston, MA in 1976 and which now takes place in over 200 cities in the U.S., Canada and other nations.
FIRST NIGHT® Wolfeboro began in 1994 as a non-profit event sponsored by the Governor Wentworth Arts Council and the Greater Wolfeboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
WOLFEBORO 2008 THEME...
"STARRY STARRY NIGHT was inspired by the Van Gogh painting of the same name. Swirls of dancing blues and greens married with splashes of yellow seemed fitting for a visual equivalent to the end of a full year. One red star blazing to depict the dreams and wishes for the child in all of us to create, inspire and ignite the spirit of 'new" into the coming year.

Whether you and your family and friends enjoy doing a little face-painting, Joining the parade, admiring the fireworks, tapping your toes to folk music, dancing to the big band or steel band, taking in a theater performance or kicking back to listen to light Jazz or classical, our diverse line up of fine performing artists will have you joyously welcoming in the New Year of 2008!
This popular event is entirely funded by button sales and the generous support from people like YOU and our LOCAL BUSINESSES - we thank you gratefully! The First Night® Wolfeboro team of volunteers have worked industriously throughout the year to make it all come together for this one special night for your enjoyment - congratulations to these fine folks!
If you'd like to make a contribution or volunteer next year, Just leave a message at the Wolfeboro Area Chamber of Commerce which will be open until the midnight fireworks show for any assistance you may require.
